And, as is traditional for the last contest of a year, this week we’ve got a video. One of the first videos a FIRSTer of my vintage would see, at that:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZiYGYBWIFA

As always, the deadline is theoretically sorta kinda Saturday at midnight Eastern.

Go!

A track from the album:

Well this is the story all about how
My life got flip turned upside down
Now won’t you take a minute just sit right there
I’ll tell you all about how FIRST changes the world by inspiring students to pursue science and technology.

[notentry]Yes, I used my one allotted Reverse Bel-Air on the Caption Contest.[/notentry]

[NPOE] I remember this one too… Now I feel old.[/NPOE]

I could sure use the technology about now-- this alien is about to eat me, and all I want to do is get away so I can seem my kids! Come on, FIRST, invent something!

[NPOE]Can I just use the original script as my entry? Nothing is as funny as ‘I need more Science and Technology so I can stay home with my kids!’[/NPOE]

If it was not for my background in FIRST robotics I would not be able to repair x-ray machine. Although I am poor and caring for my son, I am glad I started in FIRST because it gave me a foundation for a successful career even if not in Science and Technology.

{npoe, I must answer a video caption, with a caption video}
Buzz Aldrin would argue what you need is a Rocket Experience.

Yeah. Great. A true testimony. I have no idea why FIRST later decided to have guest speakers that have actually made an impact on the world of science and technology.

Although it may not require a show of fireworks or the cleverness of a wordsmith, the day will soon come when through the advanced recognition and innovative developments of science and technology, independence and opportunity will be gained, proving once again that where there is a will, there is a way.

Will’s kids must be more personable than my kids.

Apparently this guy has never experienced FIRST, because for six weeks in the winter I spend almost no time with my family.

Director: “CUT!!! Will someone please reprogram the Will Smith robot? It keeps repeating “Science and Technology””

KIDS! I need. more…SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY!

I NEED. Y’ALL. TO. INVENT. MORE. STUFF (like a My, Robot Agent to keep me from making any more garbage like “Wild Wild West”) [size=2]so I can STAY. HOME. WITH MAH KIDS![/size]
SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY…YEAHHHHHHH! And remember, [size=5]buy Pro Tools! [/size]They pay me $100k every time I say “Pro Tools”! Pro Tools Pro Tools Pro Tools!

(with apologies to Jersey Girl)

Would you people just shut the [heck] up with the ‘‘Fresh Prince’’ already?! He’s a two-bit TV actor who won’t be around any longer than it takes for the [pixels to form] on the [words] of the worthless [posts] you [wonderful people] write!

(silence)

[oops]

[npoe] edited for content [/npoe]

Forget the cowbell! What we need is more science and technology!

“Guess what? I got a fever. And the only prescription is more science and technology.”

Will Smith: “I need more science and technology!..science and technology!..science and technology!..science and technology!”
Critic: “Hmm…he sounds like a broken record.”
Critic 2: “I can see why someone would want to break one of his records”

[npoe]Yeah…I’m not exactly a Will Smith fan XD[/npoe]

I need more science and technology so that I can get my next payday in MiB III. We need better computer graphics so that I can stay home with my kids. I want George Lucas to pick this one up, but he want me to act sincere and ya’ll know I can’t do that. So here’s what we’re going to do… in this year’s kit of part you’ll find some motion capture cameras and software.

<Will puts on denim shirt>

So here’s your homework… use the motion capture gear to help build the motions for this years animation. I’m going to pick the best submission and bring that homie up to my crib and have them put a computer version of me over a performance by Dustin Hoffman. Yeah, definitely, yeah.

Lucas gets his performance, I get my payday, you get famous, and Dustin gets to use some of that Kung Fu that he picked up. We all win, see, it’s thinking like this that got me out of Philly.

Science
Technology
You got it and I need it.

Peace, out.

In a cruel twist Will Smith gave his kids yet another excuse to “celebrate science and technology” on their beloved wiis and 360s on his days off.

FIRST: Inspiring young minds, building families, and promoting Will Smith’s music since 1989.

2 weeks after video is shown to a robotics team, a human cloning device is invented exclusively for Will Smith.

Here we go!
