Team 388 poses for a photo near the pit admin desk at the NASA/VCU regional. They call themselves “Maximum Oz” for a reason… EDIT: Wow, it’s nearly been eight months and I haven’t corrected this yet. It’s Maximum Oz, not Extreme Oz.
As always, the deadline is nominally Saturday at midnight Eastern .
Go!

Team 388 goes to see the Wizard of Cogs to get spare parts for their robot…er, Tin Man, er, Tin Woman.

“I told you we were in Oz, just look at all of those munchkins over there!”
“Dorothy, those are the kids from the FLL team that we mentor…”
“Are you sure that you followed the directions and coordinates correctly from the game hint?”
They were pretty disappointed to find out that the tin-man would not suffice as their robot.

Lion: I don’t think we are in Kansas anymore…
Scarecrow: But the map said to make a left turn at Albuquerque…
Tin man: That’s the last time we let the scarecrow navigate, dawg, if he only had a brain…
Dorthy: Has anybody seen Toto?
“We’re definitely not in Kansas anymore, Tot…Ok, who let Toto of the leash again?”
In the land of Oz, only the Tin Woman is allowed to forget safety glasses and her bumper perimeter.

We’re off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of North Dumpling Island.
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. I don’t care if he is holding a light bulb!

They thought their tin womman robot would be better than all of the rest, but forgetting tin is heavier than aluminum, their robot wasn’t quite under 120 pounds…
(Just a caption, now calling her fat.)
The Good Witch prepares her wand to cast a safety spell … oh, too late, the safety inspector has moved on.
All roads lead to FRC - including the yellow brick ones.

Scarecrow: I think we’re lost.
Good witch: I told you we should have stayed on the yellow brick road.
Dorothy: Who cares? Look at my shoes.
Wicked witch: One day they’ll be mine.
Lion: This monkey freaks me out.
Tin woman: I think I like it here.
Monkey: EEP!!!
Team Oz shows that you can be cool and be in robotics at the same time.
Whaddaya mean, we’re not at the Kansas Regional anymore?
[NPOE]…but Oz never did give nothing to the tin man,
That he didn’t, didn’t already have…[/NPOE]
At the Oz reunion Glenda (The Good Witch) inadvertantly waved her wand and everyone was magically transported to a FIRST regional where the Tin Woman fell in love with Team 1501’s robot and refused to return to Oz.
[npoe] I know it’s a shameless plug [npoe]
Lion: “I told you to stick to the Yellow Brick Road and not use the GPS upgrade to Dorothy’s Slippers! This isn’t the Emerald City!”
RubyRedSlippers: “Re-Calculating…”
<NPOE> Dang! Don beat me to the America reference </NPOE>

Bucky: "Hey Dave! You always said that 116 would never win a competition until flying monkeys came out of your . . . "
Amanda: “Well, look what we found!!!”
