CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #486

I remember when a 486 was a right nice computer! (And we used dial-up modems! And we had to connect them to the phone company on foot! Uphill both ways!)

As always, the deadline is nominally Saturday at midnight Eastern.

On most teams, the question that worries the mentors is, “What will the students be doing if we leave them unsupervised?”

On this team, the same question is worrying the students!

And this is why they are MEs and not architects.

Giganto-Jenga, because someone has way too much time (and it’s obviously not build season).

Secretly a game hint for the 2014 game, Tumbling Towers.

Somebody’s still obsessing over Stack Attack. “See, if we only …”

<npoe> When I bought my first home computer, I got a 386. My thought was, why would we ever need a 486? <

OK, most of you only hear about cabin fever but in Minnesota it is at epidemic levels. A good mentor will use any means to keep idle hands busy. Even if it means wrapping 2x4’s in gift paper and inventing a new game.

[npoe] First computer was a Commodore 64k. Get off my lawn.[/npoe]

Minecraft, circa 1997

Student: "Why is the mentor humming “Another brick in the Wall”?

Hey Carl, the robot is sleep-walking again.

The mentors are practicing for when they do this to the robot on Bag and Tag day.

What do you mean it’s overweight? We haven’t even added the electrical or the bumpers yet…

Structural engineering software, good enough for buildings, good enough for Jenga.

Humpty Dumpty sat by the wall.
Humpty Dumpty caused it to fall.
None of the team’s mentors could put the wall together again.

You’re supposed to build the tallest tower possible, not the most unstable!

Meanwhile, at the Game Design Committee meeting…

Brick-a-day Charlie, at work.

Building the team’s future, one block at a time.

In the snow! You had modems? We had to shout “One” “Zero” “One” “One” into the phone to move any data.

Dan Blocker in his retirement years.

Sorry about the delay, everyone–FLLing and getting my computer all the way up and running can run the clock out on 'ya!
