The rules, for the newbies.

And the picture:

As always, the deadline is nominally Sunday at midnight Eastern.

Go!

Bovine Intervention is seen violating several rules of time travel, as they are clearly using a 2016 robot in the 2002 game. Unfortunately, there is no evidence that this picture wasn’t planted long after the fact, so the time police have no evidence to shut them down.

Person on the right, thinking: Most teams won’t have access to flat sturdy foam pieces like this. I wonder what else can be used? Ah, Pool Noodles!

“Excuse me, I need to make a call to New Hampshire.”

1st student: “We built the best robot for this game and it is just under 120 pounds.”
2nd student: “Something doesn’t seem right. How is it going to move?”
1st student: “Do’h!”

“Last minute weight reductions.”

I’m sorry. Zip ties are not legal bumper fasteners, even if your robot is from 2002.

Mentor to student who didn’t read the manual: Square bumpers are legal this year, right? right?

Person on far right:
“Crap, I left the computer compiling at home!”

Ok, very funny… who put the numbers on the bot upside down?

How we do it up North, where wheels are useless on snow…

He’s coming this close to realizing he can just flip the robot over instead of reaching in awkwardly.

Says nothing about wheels. I say we’re good.

The last minute rebuild to mimic The Beast (#71) didn’t turn out as well as we’d hoped.

Ohh no! We forgot the RSL! Quick! Find a spot for it!

Here we see team Not Hammond- one of three well-known teams from that year.

“I can fit the grinder in here, but not with the guard on…someone distract the Safety Advisor!”

At last! (Hey, when the girlfriend is in town it’s #priorities.)

First place goes to:

  • Robot Controller
  • Radio
  • Rotating Light
  • Associated Wiring, Circuit Breakers, and Fuse Panel
  • Team Name/Number signs
