The rules, for the newbies.

And the picture:

As always, the deadline is nominally Sunday at midnight Eastern.

Go!

Jamie to Adam: These kids are really bright. I can see why Grant loves working with them so much.

Jamie: OK, so we need to add the fire here, the CGI markers here, and somebody ask Grant what the best way to drive this thing is, he’ll probably know.

Adam: I think Morgan would know better on the driving, do you have his contact details?

Jamie: “What does that switch do?”
Student: “Please don’t touch that.”
Jamie touches switch and catapult springs forward hitting Adam.
Student: “We told you not to touch that switch.”

Adam: “has this been tested?”
Student: “uhhh, yes of course it has”
Adam: “of course it has I knew you guys were smart, but that gives me an idea since most people are not as smart as you, why can’t I test things and show how they work or I guess testing it.”

Jamie: If only Grant was here to explain how this thing really works.

Today on Mythbusters we’re testing the myth that Miss Daisy is mentor built. We’ll ask both the students and their mentors a series of difficult questions about their robot to see how much they know.

Myth BUSTED!

What makes Miss Daisy’s robots so awesome? Well, there’s a myth we can’t bust.

Jamie: “So is this a catapult?”
Student: “No, it’s the RSL.”
Adam: “Ah, the Robot Super Launcher. I didn’t realize they were so small.”

FRC Robot vs. rocket sled and C-4 in three, two, one!

“What’s the blue light for?”
“If it lights up, Daisy.”
“Daisy?”
“Oh, I mean Goose.”
"Goo… "
“Um, sorry, Duck.”

“Next up on Mythbusters - are safety glasses really necessary?”

Five seconds and one autonomous routine later:

“Yes.”

Jamie, “So if I trip that, it will trigger the launch and hit Adam?”

“Yes!”
