The rules, for the newbies.
And the picture:
[6b170dbb356a7540c1e2efd1d141ccec_l.jpg] This is a pic of the torque tester that Mr Simpson, Nick S., Greg, Steve, and I made the Sunday before the Canadian Regional. It has a digital load tester with 500lb limit with digital readout. CRT was by far the strongest robot and I forget our numbers. Note also that the torque tester is in the back pit area by the machine shop where 639, 188, and 5 other teams were put due to the lack of space. We got shafted.
The laptop was running a 3min movie tha…
As always, the deadline is nominally Sunday at midnight Eastern.

Here we see the inspiration for Nerd Sniping.
“Test Your Torque”
aka “We want to see if we can push your robot around on the field.”
Chief Inspectors: “We’re all about trying to maintain consistency across events”
Your local LRI: “I have a hunch that robots at this event aren’t torque-y enough. Let’s build a contraption to test them all before we let them go to practice matches.”

… “CRT was by far the strongest robot and I forget our numbers.”…
CRT watched closely the other teams. The results were the main factor on their DNP list.
The other teams were pretty torqued about 639’s surprise test. Nobody had studied for it, so most teams failed.
Hurry, hurry, hurry, step right up and test you torque!
If you score the highest value, you win this laptop.
If you score the lowest, you have our condolences.
Nothing like a shooting gallery for testing.
The 2025 game, Programmer Rush, has been revealed. In autonomous, robots must test their torque to prove their worthiness to be programmed. When teleoperated period starts, robots stack totes and plywood to create a table for the programmers, and in the endgame, must set up a laptop with all the required software for the next game!

Onward!
Oblivious to the field conditions, they did not respond to the volunteer’s call for more bins to carry all those bins .
Don, I think you posted this in the wrong Caption Contest. Shouldn’t it be #918 ?
Hmm. Speaking of oblivious…
