Celt-X is proud to Reveal Penelope 2.0!

Over the fall, Celt-X 5406 has embarked on a project to rebuild our practice bot ahead of the Ra Cha Cha Ruckus off-season event. The goal was to get some practice with new mechanisms and techniques, while training rookie team members on the basics of robot construction. The project has also provided an opportunity for our marketing team to practice video editing.

It’s been a bit of a panic (we only got the go-ahead to enter a second robot in Ruckus in September), but also super fun to relive build season. The robot is now smaller, lighter, faster and laser-focused on gear running. Catch it (if you can) with a brand new drive team this weekend in Rochester.

Without further ado, we are pleased to present Team "9406"s robot: Penelope 2.0!

Looks really awesome! I can’t wait to see it in action this Saturday!

Ruckus is starting to look like Indiana with all these top tier gear runners. Playoffs will be fantastic! Nice work.

Looks good. Ruckus should be a blast this year.

:ahh: 5406 coming with 2 amazing robots this time, double trouble!

For a moment as I was watching the video, I saw this and thought you guys had opened up a CIM on the side and were pumping in air directly. Gave me a bit of a heart attack.

Hmmm that actually doesn’t sound like a bad idea for 775 pros

I like the way you can push the gear onto the back of the peg with your gear mech. Very well planned (or lucky!).

Looks awesome, and I’m excited to see it in person this weekend!
It seems like everyone else at Ruckus is gonna have a bad time

Our friends from 6488 taught us how to do that using passive gear handling mechanisms.

Looking good! Can’t wait to check it out at Ruckus!

With the teams attending Ruckus, I think it can be a top 3 open off season event, obviously debatable, but its a strong case.

Super cool to see it all together! Glad to see the geometry on the gear mechanism worked out! Good luck guys!

It was cool to get both your robots on an alliance with us. That gearmech worked really well.
