… And that’s not the depth of competitiveness either, there are still more teams I haven’t mentioned that could seed first at many other events but will likely find themselves way down the order here.
Midwest also keeps on getting stronger, so that
could be even more insane will probably be a bloodbath.
I’m really excited for this competition!
However, it’s the reason my team’s goals for this season changed from “get to Einstein” last year to “win a regional” this year.
There are going to be a lot of big names that miss out and a mad dash for some of the week 6 events to try to salvage a qualifying slot/wildcard shenanigans.
To add to the list of strong teams not mentioned yet:
4213 has won regionals the last two years from the # 1 alliance
5934 was the # 1 seed at Midwest last year
5847 was the # 1 seed at Midwest in 2020, has had a number of other strong showings historically
Before the excitement/chaos begins, Friends of Robot Casserole is hosting a spaghetti dinner to help those out-of-town teams save some money on food costs Thursday night. $10 per meal, about a 3-minute walk from the Coliseum. Search CD for post with more details. Sp excited to have such a great regional in my town!!
Still holding the spot for toughest regional by Mean EPA
It’s not too far off the top for Top 8 or Top 24 either.
Local teams are already talking. This one really is going to be unpredictable - the field is so deep, it’s going to be a ton of fun watching each match. Teams have their work cut out for em!
