I’m trying to simulate the relationship between chain and sprockets in Fusion 360, but I can’t. Do you have any ideas? What do you think I’m doing wrong? Thanks in advance from Krypton FRC
There is a thread here and a good calculator here. These are good resources if you are trying to design a mechanism and find the center distance for the sprockets. If you want help with Fusion on a model as a design exercise, what roadblocks are you experiencing?
The only and fatal obstacle is precisely to make the interaction between the movements of the chain with the gears through the “assemble” of the fusion, to simulate exactly how the movement of the parts would be
If you’re trying to animate or constrain chain so the chain turns while the sprockets turn, people in FRC and ChiefDelphi will just tell you “don’t, why?” — and for decent reasons, such as a waste of time due to a long time to get something that doesn’t affect your robot, an increase in CAD loading times, etc.
You might get better feedback on another forum, though maybe someone here could help.
Actually i figured it out a few hours after making the post so I simply changed the mechanism to a full gear one, just to test some tools and produce some data I needed about the joint. Thank you very much
