I was curious what other teams did for the Chairman’s Award this year. My team, Team 108 in Florida, did an autorun presentation on CD. It included video, slides, and narration. We sent it to the Motorola Midwest Regional in Chicago. Anyone else?..
We did VHS video which included lots of info on what our team did during the off-season. We submitted to St. Louis Regional. Check our wwwmetalinmotion.com page for more details.
10 minute VHS video along with a “visual anthology”; an array of pictures summarizing partnership, achievement, team spirit, and outreach as relating to our team.
10 minute VHS documentary showing all the stuff that FIRST wanted and some fun teamwork too. Scored with Jazz such as Rhapsody in Blue & Take Five. Sent to Pacific Northwest Regional Center.
We did a 10 min VHS video with some interviews of team members, mentors, teacher, lots of community stuff and snowboarding clips and pictures, because of our Alpine Robotics theme. We also used music from local bands. we sent it to the Pacific Northwest regional
We did a interactive presentation in Macromedia Director. It takes exactly 10 minutes to view and we sent it to the Great Lakes Regional. (Actually, I dropped it off personally the morning of but that’s another story.)
I did my team’s Chairman’s Award submission in Flash. Check it out at http://nervae.phenominet.com/first/team810.zip - aprox. 15 megs. It’s a rushed job because we had other things on our mind (i.e. figuring out how to put the robot together) until the last week - about when we realized we don’t have anything for the chairman’s award done. Took me basically most of Wednesday night and required an all-nighter Thursday night as well as two Frapuchino’s from the local 7-11, convieniently open at 3am. I did bad on a world history test and failed my bio test because all my energy was focused on getting the submission done, but hey, it was all done for the Cause Any feedback for next year would be appreciated, including suggestions to get started earlier on it =0
