Championship Bracket Challenge

Most people probably know about the March Madness bracket phenomena. This is the same concept, but for the FRC Championship.

Between Noon(After alliances are selected) and 1 EST This Saturday (April 18th) go to:
http://www.bracketmaker.com/tlist.cfm?tid=360644
and enter your picks for a bracket all the way to Einstein. Make sure you put a final match score for the final match-up on Einstein in the notes section for the match so a tiebreaker can be made if necessary.

To make your picks, click Predict It! near the top of the page then register an account. Only name and email are necessary for account creation. When you create an account please use your Chief Delphi account name so it is easy to identify you. Brackets close at 1:00pm so make sure you get them done ASAP

Rules are simple, most points wins. The points system is 1pt for a correct first round game and doubling each round after (So Einstain finals are worth 16 pts.) If there is a tie for first, the finals scores you put down for the final match will determine the tiebreaker.

The brackets are all filled out.

You have ~30 minutes to make your predictions. The system should allow you to make a prediction after that time, but it will show up as a “late prediction” at the bottom of the standings.

Awesome! Thanks for doing this. How fun! GO DUKE!!!

Thanks for putting this together…it should be great, can’t wait to see how it plays out!

Submitted, see you at the top, guys

aww man just missed the cut off! girr!

If you guys actually win, you probably will win the bracket pool. Most everyone has 1114/469/2041 winning, so the most shake-ups will happen is if another alliance wins.

Otherwise it comes down to the 294/67/343 vs. 1625/2056/3138 semifinal. If 294’s alliance wins, I win the pool. If 1625’s alliance wins, Kevin O’Connor and David tie for 1st.

Should be fun.

Woot! I won!

Congrats! I’ll post the top 5 with scores after the finals are done, but nobody near the top is going to move around just point totals may change.

The top 5:

1 Sean Lavery 53
2 Michael Corsetto 51
3 Tottanka 51
4 Pace Nalbone 48
5 Kevin O’Connor 47

Credit should also go to the following two people who submitted at 1:00 and 1:01 EST:

27 Jamie Kalb 58
28 George A 53

It’s interesting that nobody picked the alliance that eventually won it all. It was kind of a surprising ending. We all know that 177, 67, and 294 are awesome teams, but I think most people expected 1114 and 469 to win it all.

Awww, man! Did I actually miss the cut-off by 1 minute??? Would’ve won! Dang. Oh well. Thanks for setting this up, Kevin! It was fun.

Yep, yours was listed as 10:00 Pacific which was the set cutoff time. I posted you and George because I know matches hadn’t started by the time either of you submitted.

Second! Thanks for putting this together Kevin! I enjoyed making the picks, but in the end it looks like we were all wrong!
