Championship Congratulations and Thanks

I just wanted to say thank you and congratulations to a few teams/people. There were so many congratulations threads and I kind of wanted my thoughts to be in one place. Anyone else that wants to say thanks to someone not in one of those threads can post here.

To Team 70, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work with you guys. Even though it has been two years since I was on the team, You still make me feel at home and part of the family.

To Team 1519, I had never worked with you before this weekend but I would love to in the future. You guys were a great captain and it was really fun to work with your team.

To Team 1918, you guys have came a really long way in the past three years. I remember your rookie season, and you have really came a long way since then. You had an excellent season this year and I am really excited to see what happens. I truly believe we will see you guys on Einstein in the next two years.

To Team 33, one of these days we are going to play together and it will be great. You guys are a class act and I was disappointed not to see you on Einstein.

To the Dean’s List winners, I wish I could meet all of you in person since you are obviously excellent students and people. I would like to give a special shout out to Ingrid Fiedler from team 3368, all the way out in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She is a senior and helped found the team there. She is also a former student of team 70, so I have seen how energetic and intelligent she was up close. If the other winners are even half as good at being ambassadors for FIRST like she is, then I would say the members of the committee did a great job.

To Chris Fultz, congratulations on winning the WFA. From the handful of times I have talked to you at and around IRI I see that you get FIRST.

To the Event Staff and Volunteers, this was one of the most well run Championships I have ever attended. Everyone was courteous and there was certainly no awkward situations. I know there are times it gets hectic out there, but you guys kept it perfect.

Finally, to the Georgia Dome. You have been home to five of the greatest weekends of my life. It will feel wrong to go somewhere else, but the memories I have made while there are going to stick with me forever.

I would like to thank you, Jack, for helping Team 70 out so much this weekend. Having you in the stands scouting is not only hilarious, but it’s also good to have someone who knows FIRST inside and out around for the sake of scouting. You do good work.
