So I’m a freshman, and going to champs. (Small glow of pride inside.) Are there any places (restaurants, businesses, etc.) that I HAVE to visit while I’m there?
Thanks!

I plan to go up the Peace Arch and, time permitting, take a steamboat tour on the Mississippi - it’s all within walking distance of the Edward Jones Dome and most of the hotels - all of which are on the Metrolink red line… Were there time, the St. Louis Cardinals are hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates Fri-Sun and Busch Stadium, again, is walking distance…
As a Missouri native, I’ve already been to STL several times and definitely recommend seeing the arch and time permitting going inside it. It’s quite a feat of engineering and awe inspiring close up
Other teams pits and seminars.
There’s a Boeing plant on the far side of the airport where they build F-18 and F-15. They offers some tours.
Aloha,
We always make a trip the City Museum. It is a blast at night! Very reasonably priced evening of fun for all ages. It is also within walking distance of the competition. http://explorestlouis.com/visit-explore/see-do/see-do-member/?mid=29&gclid=CIfqh53qubYCFWjZQgodsjsA2A
Of course visit the arch and city hall for a great team photo op as well.
Hope to see you there,
The City Museum!!! Our team went last year and it was so much fun! We are going to go again this year instead of the FIRST Finale because we had such an awesome time last year!
Ah, don’t cross the bridge. “The Hill” has some great Italian food. Arch is a must for first time visitors.
Thanks everybody! I’ll try to get all of these in. (WHY IS CHAMPS ONLY THREE DAYS???)
I know my favorite part of my first trip to champs (last year) was my team and a few others playing Ultimate Frisbee underneath the arch.
If you guys show up around the same time maybe we can all play together?
Ted Drewes Frozen Custard a St. Louis tradition.
It’s four. The FIRST Robotics Conference Workshops begin Wednesday afternoon. The FLL and FTC opening ceremonies are Wednesday evening. Some teams show up early enough to get in some planned sight-seeing before the FRC pits open for the “early crew” of five team members at 4pm Wednesday.
There is Casinos with good buffet places near by.
Also a revolving dome restaurant at one of the hotels, but it is a bit pricey.
St. Louis now have 4 Brazilian restaurants…
For those like to go to church/temple/house of worship service on Saturday/Sunday, let me know and I will be happy to find one for you, just send me a private message.
Cheers,
Marcos.
