I imagine FIRST will get around to announcing this sometime, with more details.
But until then, check it out here:

Thank you for the link.I think it is great to see STEM getting some very high level support. I listened to the President’s speach anouncing the Change the Equation program and really like the website, especially the featured programs section. I am really happy we have a president who values this stuff (really hard to stay non-political here). I encourage all to look at the site, and not just the parts about FIRST as there are other very good programs.
You can see Obama’s speach here:

I suppose FIRST had to wait until the President made the announcement. According to the website the President was to announce the {change the equation} effort.
What is a little confusing to me is the particulars. For example they say ‘who they are’ and ‘the mission’, ‘the goals’ but don’t say anything about ‘how they do it’.
I don’t want to sound to critical but what exactly are they bringing to the table. Funding, coordination, etc ? Is it just a registry of STEM programs ? A way to corral 100 CEOs ?
I dunno !
It is a brand new organization and as such they probably don’t know all the particulars yet. I read the mission and goals and what they do (under the about tab) and it seems to me that it is a good start. There is no way to tell how a new enterprise will turn out but I like what they are trying to do.
