How many of you guys get Channel One News at school? Are you forced to watch it… can you talk during the commercials?
Just wondering.

Ha…our school district pulled the plug on Channel One. Besides that was very annoying…not to mention the TV’s we had were junk! When Channel one left, they took the horrible TV’s with them and the district gave us brand new one. This was a couple years ago. You could ALL protest and refuse to wath it you know.
I wish my school pulled the plug on them… its like 60% commercials
We’ve never had channel one. My elementary school ran our own news show (I was the anchor), and we watched some CNN thing for a while, but no Channel One.
We get channel one… I hate it. We HAVE to watch it. But we usually talk through out most of it.
What is this channel one?
All the schools in our district run their own news shows.
That’s the thing our school has our own news show as well but we still have to watch this chanel One thing. If you feel like it there is a ChanelOne.com. :yikes:
Later…
Channel One is just a big freaking advertisement for Pepsi. It’s week-old ‘news’ that everyone should already know about. It’s like 3 minutes of show and 10 of commercials.

I got it, unfortunetly. We have a choice, because our home room teacher doesn’t care. We talk all the time, so, I guess we can.
our district got rid of ti over the summer and the classrooms now have larger televisions
but when we did have it, no one watched it.
Went to the website. Looks like crap. Luckaly we don’t have that here.
few
Our school has channel one and we are only allowed talk during the commercials, but that doesn’t always happen.

You are so lucky. The news it has isn’t bad in my opinion, it’s how they show it to be.
We have channel One… they show it at the beginning of every history class… usually teachers have some kind of response sheet or question thingy for the class…every teacher is different on if you can talk during the commericials or not…

My school doesn’t even care about it. It’s fun really, because I just talk, and wait for lunch.

Aw man, that has gotta suck. The most interesting thing ever shown on our t.v.'s was CNN’s report about the Iraq thing about 2 Fridays ago.
Ugh…we have Channel One. The tv’s come on by them selves everyday, but fortunately it usually comes on during our passing time so nobody suffers. I agree that it’s mostly advertising for Pepsi and other big companies. It doesnt really tell anyone anything that they didnt already know. But our school is cheap so if we didnt have the crappy tv’s we would probablly get no tv’s at all.
