Week Zero really helped us appreciate “Vertical efficiency”. We also added a motor to allow us to push the note out the top of the launcher if this method has issues on a real field.
Congratulations to 131 on a great season. I didn’t realize 131 hadn’t gotten a winner banner since 2012. I definitely would have thought you’d picked up at least one over the years.
Glad to see the team making the trip down to champs. I expect your note feeding will do well down there.
We feel very fortunate to have had a conflux of High student drive, Mentor availability, A Competitive robot and Funding availability all in the same year to make WCMP happen.
Getting that event win last weekend was a big deal for us.
Since 2012 (and in 2019 especially) we have started to build more complicated robots that didn’t really get fully flushed out until the offseason so we had a tendency to be a strong team in peoples minds (due to offseason recency bias) even though we were not as competitive at official events.
Going to Week Zero this year gave us the drive to be mechanically complete early enough to chase software features that really reduced driver workload and improved performance. It paid off in a big way this year.
