Thanks for signing up! Believe it or not…there are lots of teachers out there who do not know anything about FIRST. :frowning: This is a great way to get the message out there. :] I will send reminders to everyone. If you are under 18, please email me at homs7c@yahoo.com. I will set up an user id and password for you. As Tiffany wrote…I do not check my pm… but I will make the effort to.

The chat is held on the k-12 Campus…so you must be a registered user in order to participate.

This looks like a cool place and a really good way to get word out. I just signed up, it looks like a good program, but can someone give a brief explination of exactly what it is/what it does?

I’m definitely up for getting involved. FIRST PR is something I definitely look forward to and do as much as humanly possible.

RCU Chat is hosted on the Tapped In site… it is a chat and resource site for educators, academic consultants, etc. One of our members, Robyn was exploring Tapped…ended up chatting with one of the moderators of the science-math resource room…which evolved into these educators wanting to know more about FIRST…that is why this chat is set up…for us…to excite these teachers…I know Andy Baker had posted …why teams exists even though they do not have teachers/mentors…this is really our chance to get them on board…I know that this is a common problem among veteran and rookie teams alike.

I hope this answer you question …if not…email me at fl34990@yahoo.com…
I hope that you were able to find the chat site…it is on k-12 Campus… the chat room is Robotics (k-12)

Pat and Everyone

We emailed Dave to see if he could come into the chat, but unfortunately he has a prior commitment. The educators and other folks I’ve been talking to at Tapped In are so excited that we are going to be doing this. I tried to explain that we are only doing our homework, but we can expound on that more when we are in the chat. I am delighted that we will have a good number of informed representative students and mentors joining us from CD, I made sure the moderator added the website to his list of links.

Hi everyone! I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season - hope all your finals are easy and that your shopping is quick and fun. I just wanted to thank those of you who joined us in the Tapped In chat on Tuesday. It went very well, and I think everyone had a good time chatting in real time - something that we can’t do on Chief Delphi, unfortunately. There were anywhere from 18-22 people involved in the chat during the two hours, including
educators from around the US and abroad, as well as students and mentors from Chief Delphi and RCU . The educators were very interested in the FIRST and VEX
programs and asked a lot of questions. Our students and mentors shared their stories about FIRST, explaining how they got involved and why they have stayed with the program. Everyone had such a good time that the moderators of the educators group has asked us to continue hosting a weekly chat, which we are happy to do. Please mark your calendars for next week, December 13 and join us again from 7-9 p.m. for our second chat. We are inviting all students, mentors and educators to become part of the regular chat sessions - a great way to talk to old friends, make new ones, and continue to spread the word about FIRST. Hopefully, more CD’ers will be able to join us “Talk” to you soon!
