I’m trying to build a small scale robot and I don’t have the funding for all the traditional frc control parts (rio, pdp etc.) are there other ways to control a robot on a smaller scale? I was thinking with raspberry pi but i’m not sure. The main thing is that I would like to be able to write the code for it using wpilib so I’m not sure whether there are other systems that support that.
You could look into the Romi it runs wpilib but it is fairly limited in how it runs
Is the VMX Pi still a thing?
It doesn’t appear to be sold anymore. The replacement seems to be the VMX Robotics Controller, but it costs $400 (so nearly as much as a Rio).
See my post here for what I’ve looked into online. The Romi really is a great option.
