Chezy Champs 2018

First match of Friday is looking to be a good one.

Thanks!

Quals 41 is insane: 3310, 3538, 4911 vs 3309, 842, 254.

Qual 44 is also a banger:

1538, 3310, 2990

Vs

4911, 1323, 604

Who am I kidding, this entire event is:

Uh oh…

I’m here on the floor and I’m so so excited! Catch me on field reset.

Brah you’re not on the floor, you’re laying on the couch :joy:

The Couch Division is a thing at off-seasons?

Chezy Champs is very much on my bucket list. Y’all be safe and have fun this weekend!

Yo don’t out me like this, field reset is hard D:

IRI has nothing on the Auto pull-up skills that 1323 has.

Edit: If you havent seen the finals, i suggest you watch them, including all of the postmatch of finals 2.

Edit 3: Full match video is on YT Here.

REVERSE, REVERSE!

That was quite the turn of events. Looks like a blockading call on the number 1 alliance caused a redcard to whole alliance, giving alliance 2 the win in finals 3, and ultimately declaring alliance 2 the winner of Chezy Champs.

wow

Prepare for the flamewars and s***storms, CD.

What happened after match 3?

That entire finals 3 situation was absolutely ridiculous. I can’t imagine how it must feel for the students of the 1st alliance who had their trophies taken from them after being told they had won. When the official score was announced there should not have been room to Steve Harvey the entire thing

Thank you so much for posting this, it really helps those of us that weren’t tuned in understand the controversy. I suppose the referee’s interpretation of the rules is technically correct, but I think it takes “advantage” of a potential loophole since the rule does not define a difference between qualification and elimination matches. IMO, the rule us written with a qualification match in mind, so that all teams that participate in the blockade are duly punished. In elimination rounds, yellow and red cards already apply to an entire alliance. To apply a yellow card to an entire alliance “twice” (I know it was not literally applied twice) seems excessive.

Plus, I think to call that blockading based on what was shown in the “part of match in question” link is a stretch. I presume the call is on the two red robots locking the one blue robot in to their side of your field. Does this shut down a major aspect of gameplay? For that one robot, sure. But the quote the referee said specifically listed blocking all opponents to one area as a violation. Is locking one robot in to a space really blockading?
