Seeing mini-RSN (@Andrew_L and @Leap) at East Bay Regional was great, I really hope other events take note (no pun intended).
Thanks again @NickE and the rest of the chezy team for a world-class, certified banger of an event again this year. We had a great time playing with 2910 & 6328 & 670 to complete the back to back as chezy champions.
Can’t wait for next year! #defensebotgetspaid
The following note was sent to attending teams tonight
====================
Good Evening Teams,
Thank you for attending Chezy Champs. We had a blast and hope you did too.
We’d appreciate if you’d fill out our feedback survey and share it with your team. Multiple responses per team are fine and encouraged.
Photos from the robot photo booth are posted here. You are welcome to use these photos for any purpose.
Party on and we’ll see you next year!
Team 254
Did you watch our webcast but not attend in person? We’d love to hear your feedback too. Please fill out our feedback survey.
Thanks!
Great show from a live stream spectator point of view.
The only thing I thought that could have been better is alliance selection. I think its better for the emcee to go the alliance instead of having them come to the middle and I think the timer should start as soon as the emcee asks them if they’re ready or not.
Other than that a great event for spectator put on by 254
I felt like such a dinosaur out there. Last time I was on the field for alliance selection was 17 years ago. Other than that I enjoyed the changes since we didnt have to hunt down folks in the stands to compare information and we could just get it all done on the field.
A great unnoticeable change for me was being able to stand in the line of teams and discuss alliance selection strategy ahead of time, as we waited 15-20 minutes for alliance selections to begin. This helps with the chaos and disorganization of finding teams when the last match ends, discussing scenarios, who we are interested in, who might pick us, etc.
It cuts the pressure of the whole selection process because we are making use of the dead time anyway as the field crew prepare for alliance selection.
The whole timer thing made things more formal and gave everyone from the participants, to the audience, to the viewers back home a sense of when things would happen, much like an NFL draft.
Tom could also better plan when he wanted to throw in his jokes
I wish they could broadcast San Diego Regional this year
I wish they could broadcast… everything
What an awesome event, thanks for hosting, Poofs! We can’t wait for the next one.
I had to search for a minute to find the recording on RSN’s youtube page to share with folks back home, might be worth adding to the website as the youtube link is out of date.
RSN will be splitting and posting the high-quality match videos in the coming days. Stay tuned, they’ve been busy
This seems to be working so far for you, but one thing LigerBots does is upload all there photos to flicker.
The cool thing about flickr is it keeps the original quality photos.
