I just heard from very reliable sources that CD5 was made by gnomes in the underworld… and alot of other stuff (these voices are driving me nuts).

To the Chief Delphi gang… you dont’ have to justify what you do, your teams success speaks for itself. Keep up the great work, you guys can always be counted on to bring a great team and robot to the competition and that is what we love about you.
Those of us that have been around awhile know what kind of effort you put forth and what it takes to do this. More power to you all.
I just know that when a team loses to you guys they lost to one of the best.
We look forward to competing with you in Chicago.

P.S. Is it true that you guys are from a distant galaxy and are here just to make fun of us mere mortals???

So THAT’S how they came up with the gearing to achieve 47 mph! Wow. I heard they might bring 8 or 9 extra robots to Nationals… one for each qualifying match, just to keep all the scouting teams on their toes.

I must admit that the ‘Garden State’ moto drew us because we could do more crop writing.

We will post a picture of a large 47 outside New Brunswick in the field as soon as the film is sent back from NASA.

For those of you who are new to FIRST, or who have a few years under you belt like I do… get this:

Tim Railey from team 45 has been in this thing …for…nine…years. Yes, nine. Listen to him. He’s seen this come from 28 teams in 1992, through some tough years and some excellent years.

When he says that team 47 is to be commended, we should all respect those words more than anyone else posting here.

Tim isn’t as vocal as I, and he’s also not in the spotlight as much… but I depend on him sooo much. He is the backbone of our team, and I just wanted the rest of you to know that.

As for my opinions about how 47 does things… keep raising the bar. We’ll try to keep up. We always enjoy being your neighbor and look forward to a coninued partnership in the years to come. Our students, like others on many teams, look up to your engineers and teachers so much. You are not only role models to these students, but also to engineers like me.

Please don’t back down. Your example pushes us all to be better and more inspirational every year.

For those of you who do not know team 47 and are quick to criticize… think twice. What you do not know makes you look ignorant. They’re involvement in this crazy FIRST thing has made us all better teams… believe me.

Respectfully,
Andy Baker
