CHS District Greater DC #1 Day 1 Match Data?

Match info from the CHS Greater DC #1 Day 1 event doesn’t seem to be available on The Blue Alliance or FIRST. Other CHS events have posted results.

Anyone know what the issue is or if/when to expect results to be posted?

From what I heard there was some connection issues between the FMS and HQ servers. Matches were run and stuff, but data wasn’t synced (hence why there isn’t even a match schedule on TBA). Hopefully that gets fixed, and I believe that match videos are getting posted from the scouting stream to this Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVwW9vgNGrnBXVYSJV-8vmg

Update - Apparently there was an issue with how the event was classified and that messed things up. The data does exist and HQ is working to get it resolved. No ETA on when.

In my experience, they’re a sharp group of people, so we probably won’t have to wait too long.

Update - Looks like the match data has been added, but now the district ranking points are wrong in multiple ways. If you’re in CHS, check the FIRST CHS results page against the rules in the manual for single-day events. At the moment, it looks like many teams received too many points. From table 11-5:

Alliance Selection
For Single-Day Events, ALLIANCE CAPTAINS 1, 2, 3, and 4 receive 16, 14, 12,
and 10 points respectively. For Single-Day Events, first through eighth picks receive 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, and 2 points respectively.

11.8.1.3 Playoff Round Performance
This attribute measures team performance as part of an ALLIANCE.
All teams on the ALLIANCE winning a particular playoff series, who participate in MATCHES with their ROBOTS, receive 5 points per MATCH won. In most cases, teams receive 10 points at each of the Quarterfinal, Semifinal, and Final levels, unless a BACKUP ROBOT is called in to play. For Single-Day Events, there is no Quarterfinal level so teams can receive up to 20 points for winning at the Semifinal and Final levels. [not sure if this means 10 for semis, 20 for event win or 20 for either?]

Also the district ranking points haven’t been added correctly in the table …

I’ve opened an issue on TBA GitHub about their district point calculations not being correct, but can’t do much about FRC Events. For what it’s worth I do have accurate and updated district points in this spreadsheet.

Thanks for reaching out to TBA and making this spreadsheet!

Can you clarify how playoff performance points work for single-day events? We made it to the finals in DC 2-1 (and promptly lost) and FIRST shows 10 points. I thought it would be 20.

Unless it’s 0 for semis, 10 for finals, and 20 for the win?

Correct, for single day events it’s 0 for semis (since you start there), 10 for finals, 20 for win. In general you earn 10 district points for each playoff series win (QF / SF / F).

Part of the problem with TBA / FRC Events data right now is that for week 1 FMS didn’t support four alliance events so scorekeepers created fake alliances with 999X team numbers and ran quarterfinals matches against those to advance the real alliances to semifinals. This led to the real alliances getting two extra wins and 10 extra playoff performance district points. This was fixed for week two.

Gotcha. Has that been corrected in your spreadsheet? Because it seems it wouldn’t be possible to get over 60 pts without an award, right?

Yeah, my spreadsheet is fully corrected (as far as I can tell). There are tabs for each district event giving points breakdowns, please let me know if you see anything that’s incorrect!

You can still get over 60 points in a single event: 22 points for rank 1 + 16 points for alliance captain 1 + 20 points for event win + any award win (5 / 8 / 10 points) puts you over 60 total.

The playoff results still seem pretty messed up on FRC Events:

qf 1 still appears to be waiting to be played, there are a bunch of blue teams missing, and somehow there is a reasonable score for qf 2.

Yep.

Hopefully this data will be correct and frozen on Monday, 3/28 as promised.

Thank you so much for putting the spreadsheet together! I was looking, and I think you missed 2106’s creativity award points for VA305.

Fixed! Good catch.

Okay, I think I’ve fixed everything needed for TBA in this pull request. Once it lands, I’ll get the data cleaned up and (hopefully) accurate. Thanks for filing the issue!

The data on FRC Events and TBA appear correct to me now. I’m planning to add this event to my scouting database on my next update.

I love the sheet, good work!

Thanks for the work, we’re hoping your 87% estimate for us being locked in holds true.

Thanks Brandon! It’s been fun thinking through some of the locking logic, shout out to @AMysterium for getting it started. We figured it made sense to give CHS teams something with reliable data while there were issues with other sources.

Honestly your odds of making DCMP are a lot higher, particularly since there will probably be some declines.

Would you mind if I redirect frclocks CHS page to your sheet?

That would be awesome!
