The RoboBees are excited to be apart of this event, and looking forward to seeing everyone there. Our RAP team will be out in full-force if anyone needs any mechanical, electrical, and/or C&C (LabView) support - please feel free to stop by our pit or flag down anyone wearing a RAP vest.
Thanks to 1389 and all of the volunteers for putting on a such great event, and handling the delays so well. Letting us know to go back to the pit after the second one started was a huge help.
Congratulations to the winning alliance 1418, 836, 2914, and 4821. It was an honor to compete neck and neck with such a great alliance in the semis. 1418 had a beautiful climb, and 836 had the only low goal auto at the competition. It was also cool to see 1418 switch in 4821 for 2914 when they were having problems, and still end up winning the event.
I would finally like to congratulate our first alliance partner 1885 on their chairman’s win. You guys earned it. For those of you who didn’t see their video, the best way to put their accomplishments into perspective is they dedicated 2 seconds of their video to talk about starting 60 FLL teams. (not a typo) Great job guys!
I know 1885 had a great time overall at our first district event. Thank you 1389 for hosting, and for executing it really well!
I’m also very appreciative of the event staff and FIRST HQ’s way of handling the field faults. The ‘client side’ (i.e. people in charge at the event) seemed to be way more confident and willing to be open about what’s going on knowing that FIRST HQ had every possible piece of data. This led to (at least a perception of) a more relaxed environment all around during what was easily one of the most stressful FTA-centric anomalies I’ve seen on an FRC field. I also appreciate the tough schedule decision that was made.
Thank you to 2537 for being such a great partner to work with yet again! We love the relationship we’ve developed over the years. We’ll see you again this week. And thank you to 4949 for giving it everything you had!
Finally, congratulations to the winners, 1418, 836, 2912 and 4821. Even the non-robot kids on my team know who Vae Victus and the Robobees are because of the friendship and respect we’ve developed over the years. I knew we’d have a shootout in semi’s, and we look forward to seeing you guys at DCMPs!
Looking forward, the event REALLY helped my build team work out kinks in our shooter because the “shooter” slot on the practice field was wide open for most of the event. I suppose I’m surprised more teams didn’t try to shoot high goal in our region - only 8 across 2 events I’ve seen. We will have to see how this plays out as the season progresses.
According to TBA you guys are going to Hampton Roads and we are going to Northern MD. Unless TBA is wrong, Good luck at Hampton! We were excited to work with you guys at Greater DC and are very excited to see you at District Champs. And again, congrats on chairman’s!
I loved it when our teams decided to switch the fives for our team numbers in the stands. And your drive team was such a pleasure to work with. Our drivers were both sophomores, and this was their first time driving at a regular season competition. They kept telling me about how much they loved working with you guys, and would love the opportunity to do so again at district champs!
