Nice! Did you check with FIRST on the use of their logo? I know that’s been an issue for other teams in the past when they sell stuff with a FIRST logo. Wouldn’t want you to run into issues.
I know it was an issue for us. Check out the their Intellectual Property/Trademark document.
If there are any aspiring (or actual) lawyers out there who can tell that this doc says we CAN sell items with their logo on it, then please let us know. I could be wrong and I would be so happy to be wrong in this case but I don’t think we can. ::rtm::
Not a lawyer, but the following seems germane:
The front is clearly allowed by this. The back does not have any trademarks or service marks (GDC is not in the document).
As I read it, the sleeve is the only questionable portion. It’s arguable that since the whole t-shirt is expressly references their “FIRST…activities”, it should be OK. Interestingly, if they add a “Team 999” or “MechaRams” under the logo, there would be little doubt.
That seems legit except that the NEXT section discusses FIRST teams using the FIRST trademark to sell commercial items (i.e. t-shirts). In that section it says logos cannot be used.
Sorry – forgot to enable payments on the site. Should be fixed now. Buy away!
