there’s been some stuff about potential competition between Best Buy & Circuit City what do y’all think?
They can deny it all they want, but they still are just because that’s how retail buissiness works…
Anyways, as for my pick, I choose neither.
I dont like Circuit City because…
- They don’t have what i need WHEN I need it yet they do when I don’t need it.
- Horrible pricing
I can’t stand Best Buy because…
- See number 1 from CC
- Their job application process is a disgrace. I had to apply there two times and I never got an answer from either application. What really set me off was when I went in the next week and I saw new employees there. :ahh:
Time to blow up some stores
Our Best Buy is rather overpriced I’d say, but then again so is Circuit City. I order a lot of stuff online. However, Best Buy is right by Barnes & Noble and within 2 minutes of Cinnabon, making it a convenience trip.
For some reason, Cinnabon has a mall attached to it, but I don’t go to that part of Cinnabon as often.
I am fine with both stores. However, I have always liked going to Circuit City more…
I’m a best buy fan…I like their instore selection, the circuit city by me lakes a good instore selection and store layout…it’s all in a big mess…although circuit city has a better web site then best buy.
I prefer Best Buy over Circuit City mostly because I have always gone to Best Buy for everything. Another reason is that the last time I was at the Circuit City in Lafayette, they did not have any games or computer parts in stock. And on top of that, Best Buy has a MUCH better music selection than Circuit City.

The closest Circuit City or Best Buy is 40 miles away and they are across the street from each other. I go in Circuit city first because it is easier to get into from the direction I coming from then go across the street to Best Buy if I haven’t found what I was looking for. But to choose between the two, I really don’t know.
Circuit City has usually had lower prices where I live, but on occasion Best Buy has great sales, overall I prefer Cicuit City, but I buy stuff from both of them because there both good for certain things.
I dislike both stores for different reasons.
Best Buy almost never has what I want and if they do it’s usually too expensive.
Circuit City makes me crazy because the store has no order to it, I can’t look at cds that are all over the place and not even close to any order- same with video games. Also, as a kid I can remember my uncle having his video camera stolen from him by a store manager because he liked it and wanted to take it on his honemoon with him while itwas supposed to be getting cleaned, and yes that’s what actually happened, the staff told us about it. We never got the camcorder back and corporate wouldn’t do anything to rectify the situation so I refuse to go back there. Then like 2 years later my dad bought me a radio from another Circuit City and I had problems with it so when I went to take it back to have it worked on, which was covered under my warranty I was basically told “sorry about your bad luck we aren’t gonna fix it.”
So again I prefer smaller stores.
The time between when you get hired and when you start working in about 2 weeks due to testing and training and stuff.
But to give best buy credit, you only get called back if you pass the quiz. So many people apply everyday to best buy it would really be impossible to call everyone that applies. Also if you are a minor you are less likely to get hired as anything other than a cashier due to the equipment used in the other areas.
I guess that shows which one I’m for.
Only b/c I’m there almost everyday
i choose best buy.
4 reasons
- My friend works there so employee discounts
- I have a rewards card so i get some nice gift certificates
- circuit city is very disorganized
- even if employee’s don’t know what they are talking about at either store, seems like the best buy employee’s are more enthusiastic, and just makes for a better atmosphere
I prefer Best Buy, but it is no the only store I shop at. I also shop at Micro Center and GoldenTech Computers (a small local store) for my computer needs. It all depends on how badly I need something and how cheap I can get it.
I used to work for circuit city and it was the time of my life…our store actually had PC people who knew what they were talking about. Cant ever say that about Best Buy CC can be a bit pricy, but with that new “lowest price guarantee” they’ve actually improved quite a bit.
Obviously its cheaper to buy online, but for those who choose to buy in stores, oh yeah… these companies do something called price matching
to get my own opinion in, I do prefer Best Buy 'cuz they’re more organized and, as if no one sees this coming, they actually have an entire shelf case thingy in the DVD section just for anime!
