Is it illegal to have detaching parts in the FRC Deep Space game. For example, in the year 2015, Recycle Rush, many robots such as Robowranglers had a rope tethered to their robot. I was wondering if it is against the rules to have a mechanism apart from the robot but tethered by a rope, keeping in mind about the 30 inches of the frame perimeter that you are allowed to expand.
That part, whatever it is, would need to stay within 30" of the frame perimeter, which really decreases the usability of such an item. Additionally, inspectors will be looking closely at such an item as a possible entanglement hazard.
2015 was the year of tether bots (and other fantastic and unique designs) because there were no limits on extension. Although this year has the largest extension limit since then, I would think carefully about both usefulness and legality.
Would tethering still be allowed then like say a robot had like a connecting part lmao for example a tethered train cart almost. Seems unreliable but considering the rules tethering is still a possible in this game right, however, it would just be not as good as 2015’s year 
Right. I would also make sure you follow frame perimeter and starting configuration rules with that.
