Classmate E11 Strange Imaging Problem

When we try to image the (E11) classmate, Windows was pre-installed on the laptop, and we get the following error.

  1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer
  2. Choose your language settings, and then click “Next”
  3. Click “Repair your computer”

File: \Windows\System32\boot\winload.exe
Status: 0xc0000098
Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt

There are also no Driver or Developer users, and the laptop fails to install any Windows updates.

We have recreated the image already using FRC’s instructions, and get the same error

Thank you,

Hok Hei Tam

I am getting the same, have you come up with a solution?

No, I haven’t. If you have any idea what to do or who to contact, please tell us.

mine had no OS when I got it. I imaged it with E09 by mistake. So I obtained E11 image from another team. tried the e11 and then I got same error as you. I am going out on a limb, and am wiping the drive and will try e11 image again. Hope the e11 image has all of the classmate partitions on it.

We tried re-imaging it with the E09 one, and it didn’t work either.

That’s understandable. The E09 image is obviously intended for the E09 Classmate. If you have an E11 Classmate, you should have received the E11 flash drive. Is that not the case?

I was able to make a bootable USB drive (8gb) from an ISO image from an original E11 usb drive that was sent to me from another team. The image is large, 4.5Gb. I used RMPrepUSB to write it to a blank 8GB USB drive. I expect the problem you are having is in the boot sector of the USB drive.

The E11.iso image can be downloaded from

here are the settings

let me know if it works for you.

Please pull your FTP info off the page and send as a private message if you REALLY think necessary. By posting the files online your are violating the Microsoft lisencing. You might also be contacted by your host to remove the copywrited software (or they might do it for you). The issues with the USB drives can be fixed with the dozen or so posts on CD.
