Cleaning FRP

Any ideas how to clean FRP?
We had a rather expensive practice field and the company we purchased FRP from said they would take it back, even beat up, if we could get rid of all those black marks that develop. We have heard suggestions of bleach, power washers, scrubbing, or combination’s of these… Anyone know what may work? Thanks, and good luck to week 5 people!

We were in the Same situation. To clean the piece of FRP I’d suggest using a power washer or a Floor Scrubber like the one Custodians use to clean the floor in your school. Either of those should definitely take most of the marks out of the FRP. We found though, that some pieces can’t be cleaned fully so you might want to hold onto them for Driver Practice in the Off Season - I think that’s what we did.

Word of Caution Wet FRP has to be one of the most Slippery Surfaces I’ve ever walked on. When you’re cleaning try not to walk on it if possible.

Freshmen and toothbrushes

Everything I’ve seen on the net seems to point to using mild chemicals and I guess lots of scrubbing and some WD-40 on the scuff marks.

Got to go with this one. It cleans and it teaches.

The FTA manual recommends cleaning the FRP with a “Swiffer” dry mop and using the supplied plastic cleaner. I don’t know what the name of the cleaner is though.

Thanks for this one, but this actually hardly helped at all. I think the normal fields get slightly less rough and tough type damage because they are used only for like 3 days. The one we had was up for 45+ days, so it is pretty beat up…

Now that is something I could get behind… We needed something for our general meeting tomorrow…not anymore!.. just kidding…

If anyone is interested, I will try to get the name of the cleaner at the Long Island regional this weekend.

That’d be great, its at least worth a try
