I received the following e-mail today:

Please join us for the 2022 FIRST ® Championship, April 20-23, 2022.

FIRST Championship is the culmination of the season’s FIRST programs - FIRST ® LEGO® League, FIRST ® Tech Challenge and FIRST ® Robotics Competition, bringing together students for the ultimate celebration of innovation and STEM.

In an effort to provide exceptional customer service to our attendees, we are utilizing a badging and hotel booking system.

Completing this process for badging is required for admittance and will provide you all necessary Volunteer credentials while onsite.

The e-mail and a link are from the domain “streampoint.com”, with a reply e-mail domain of “conferencedirect.com”. As a Department of Defense employee, I’m always a bit wary of third party domain e-mails. This is my first CMP as a volunteer (skipped 2019 because, Easter, and 2020 and 2021 didn’t happen); is this legit? [Yes, I’m also asking FIRST directly, but I’d feel even better with an independent confirmation.]

Does one have to register even if one is volunteering?

Registration through this system is how you get set up for badging, meals, and access to the hotel blocks for Championship.

Thanks, @ChuckDickerson! I also got an e-mail from Marybeth Mahoney confirming. I’m registered! See you midday Wednesday at CMP, or perhaps earlier at Bayou where I’m queuing?
