Coach on team #419, Rambots, from UMass Boston / BC High and NONE AT THE MOMENT! :(.

To all you coaches out there…

i wonder how the strategies will play out this year. I mean some bots will have the same strengths in some rounds, so i would imagine that the coaches are going to be trying to come up with the best scenarios to score the highest score…

what do you think will be a typical scenario…

do you think coaches will insist on hitting the stop buzzer? if so, then teams will be forced to do their ball picking up or whatever in less than a minute… or something.

well, my guess is in almost every round, there will be one that can balance well. one that will maaaybe pick up balls. and one that can get everyone across by sharing the bridge.

so given, that i think it might be best to give x amount of time to ball pickup, x amount of time to balance, and x amount to get to the other side.

“HIT THE BUZZER!!!”

“But we’re not done YET!!”

hehe…

I don’t think it’s going to be all to hard or controversial… My position on the team is to deal with just that… we’re just going to into each match well verse in other teams’ capabilities through scouting, but more importantly, versed in our own abilities… (how long it takes us to to X, or Y, and no, we can’t do Z at all…etc)… if two teams can do the same thing, you look at who can do it faster or who has more “other options” and things they could be doing meanwhile… (can one toggle the ramp, score big balls, climb fence, etc, and the other can’t)…

And as I said to Andy’s QoftheWeek, there will be a major push for speedy matches… what should happen is that everyone is given a “task” and when you complete that you hit your time and back away/raise hand/signal you’ve powered off… the team with the last task will be responsible for making sure everyone’s off and kinda “organizing” during the two minutes… Seems logical to me…

I think you’ll hear a lot of talking among the group of teams wanting to find out who goes on when and who’s with whom… and no secrets will be stowed away…

Afterall… we’re all in a division together… and only 4 teams are going to have a say in who moves forward… so you want everyone to like you…
