Did anyone else go to Coasterbuzzcon 2003 at Six Flags Great America on May 17th (yesterday)??? There were some college kids there that looked somewhat familiar, but since I was wearing my FIRST shirt and no one said anything about it, I’m guessing no. But if you were, let me know!!
For those of you wondering what this was, there was a group of about 80 of us that go into the park an hour early for ERT (Exclusive Ride Time) on the new Superman: Ultimate Flight. Let me tell you…this ride is amazing. People that know me know that I have been skeptical of it, but I have seen the error of my ways. Those of you in New Jersey and Georgia know what I am talking about. But, maybe I’m spoiled from my seven rides without a line…
The Coasterbuzz Club is a bit midwest-centric for me ;). Otherwise, I’d have been there.
One day, when I’m not feeling so lazy, I’ll drive out to New Jersey to ride their clone and see what I think. I enjoyed the Vekoma flyers, but not all that much.
I too enjoyed the Vekomo Flyer (X-Flight). I think I have to give Superman the nod though. Vekoma’s are much longer and have more variety…and you really have to love being flipped 110 feet above ground for the first time, but B&M is more comfortable, smoother, and the pretzel loop…its something I’ve been waiting for for a while (a variation of the downward loop I put in a lot of my No Limits rides). The one thing though…I didn’t get bruises from X-Flight and today, my collar bone area is quite bruised. I assume its from Superman since that is the only restraint that hit that area…though it could be from Demon or Iron Wolf. If it was Superman though, I suppose 8 rides will do that to you. I only had 2 on X-Flight. At least I wasn’t in the group that got stuck in the brakes for nearly 20 minutes…though, I probably would have thought it was fun:ahh:
