College-supported FRC teams

From this.

Let’s make a list in this thread of colleges that support/mentor FRC teams and events.

461, 1646, 1747 are supported by Purdue University. Website.
Purdue also hosts a kickoff and the Boilermaker Regional. Website.

Team 125 actually meets at Northeastern University, we also hold a kickoff event and a fantastic off-season called the Beantown Blitz. www.nutrons.com

Taylor, you missed the newest edition to to the PFP (purdue FIRST programs) family- 4272 Out of McCutcheon high school. Being a former 1747 member, I know that thats a BIG deal, for various reasons. (Note- I can only assume it is PFP sponsored, maybe someone with more info could chime in)

2783 used to and may still be sponsored by the JB speed school of Engineering (part of U of Louisville). They also have mentors who happen to be students or in one case, a professor.

1018 PIKE among others used to and may still have Ivy Tech support…

I remember at one point seeing teams that had ITT tech support but no numbers or names come to mind…

2363 has been supported by ECPI in previous years, still waiting on confirmation this year.

Drexel University sponsors a team in Philly and 3929 is the closest to campus. We support teams via partnership with the Drexel Robotics Club.

857, 2153, 2586, 3771 Michigan Technological University

Teams 20, 1493 and 1665 receive support from RPI (250 has in the past but I don’t know if they still do, and other teams have mentors from RPI but are not oficially affiliated)

Team 1350 is based at Brown University

As of 2012 in FRC Clarkson University supports teams 229 and 4124

2158/2881 get support from the Univeristy of Texas. Thier IEEE/RAS students have mentored us and they volunteer at our events.

2614 receives facilities, money, and mentors from WVU.

Ranken Technical College in St. Louis is one of the founding sponsors of 931.

The University of Illinois supports team 4096.

Team 1504 is mentored by students from Michigan State University

FRC 401 (HokieGuard) is mentored by student from Virginia Tech

Team 3928 is supported by some Iowa State University students

2815 is supported by members of the University of South Carolina. (Go Gamecocks!)

WPI officially supports 190 and 1735.

171 (Cheese Curd Herd) works in a UW-Platteville (WI) building and mentored largely by students.

830 (Rat Pack) is mentored and sponsored by University of Michigan.

1306 (BadgerBOTS) is sponsored by University of Wisconsin, and probably mentored by students as well.

Milwaukee School of Engineering students mentor several Milwaukee area teams, and at least my old team (1675, UPS) was sponsored by them. I can’t speak for the other teams in the area though.

EDIT: I can list a few more teams, but I’m not sure if we are discerning between “a school gives them money” and “students from the school mentor the students” or where the cut-off is. There is a team an hour or so away from Iowa State U, and they receive money from the school of engineering… do they count in this list?

Compiling…

*4272 will most likely be getting some mentors from PFP. They will also probably be getting some kind of support from Purdue. Nothing is for sure right now, but it appears they will also be supported in some way by Purdue.

Team 395 meets and works at Columbia U
