We have a 2 colson not enough looking to order some today just trying to see what the community recommend

There are a lot more variables that go into it than wheel selection. Top/bottom vs side, amount of compression, angle of release, speed… it’s best to do some testing to determine what works best with your design!

The “treads” on both Colson Performa wheels and Stealth Wheels are made from various forms of solid urethanes. The specific durometer (hardness) of the tread will vary, even within the line (both Colson and AndyMark make wheels of varying durometer), and may impact the performance of your launching mechanism.

In that case, either the Thrifty Bot shooter wheels or the AndyMark Stealth wheels would be your best choice. Stealth are cheaper and lighter. Thrifty have a lot of mass on the rim and so will keep their momentum better.

Hey, which are the best wheels in your opinion considering a top and bottom shooter? I heard that the blue and orange 4 in stealth wheels are good, but why?

It all depends on maximizing the friction between the wheels and the note. The orange and blue wheels have a durometer of 40A and 50A respectively. these are on the softer/ grippier end. The “sickyness” of the wheels means less slip on the note which means more of the motors energy will go into the shot meaning a better shot.

The consumer has spoken. It appears ALL 3" and 4" 1/2" hex bore AM Stealth Wheels of EVERY color are out of stock, unless their website is lying to me. :sob:

Any news on resupply, @Andy_Baker?

I’ve seen plenty of testing with complaints, and given that we’re just shooting against the speaker, we’re just going to shoot for using 35A or 50A. If somehow it’s not working at all, we’ll switch, but I suspect for short shots they’ll work. (We have a ton of excess complaints)

Thanks, Travis

All of these are molded here in Kokomo, so turnaround from being “out of stock” to becoming “back in stock” is fast. The next batch we are completing are 4" stealth wheels with 500 hex bore (am-2647_xxxx). Those should be in stock by Monday, 1-29.

As usual, for interested parties, please put your email into the “Sign up for a notification when available” link on the product web page in order to get notification of when they become available.

That’s what I’m talking about!

Supply chains measured in city blocks, not shipping containers. USA, USA!
