We are currently experiencing a communications problem and hoping someone can help us.
We are able to connect to the router, and we have successfully pinged it.
When we open driver station the comm light is red, and we cannot communicate with the roborio.
We have gotten comms when plugging in directly with a printer cable and everything seems to work fine.
Has anyone experienced this problem or know a potential solution?
Are you connected to the router via WiFi or cable?
Do the link light on the router and roboRIO blink while they are connected?
Also, what is the IP of the router you are successfully pinging to?
Can you ping the RIO while connected to the radio? If not, then set the RIO to a static IP which should be 10.TE.AM.2 - that should resolve the problem, however, it is not preferred and I would suggest talking to the CSA at your event. Please see the screensteps reference below:
OpenMesh radio - Static 10.TE.AM.1 programmed by Kiosk
roboRIO - Static 10.TE.AM.2 would be a reasonable choice, subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 (default)
Driver Station - Static 10.TE.AM.5 would be a reasonable choice, subnet mask must be 255.0.0.0
IP Camera (if used) - Static 10.TE.AM.11 would be a reasonable choice, subnet 255.255.255.0 should be fine
Other devices - Static 10.TE.AM.6-.10 or .12-.19 (.11 if camera not present) subnet 255.255.255.0
