Last year a group of parents/Kids got together and created a community FRC team.
Except for one kid, no one else worked in FRC team before so he and his parents were guiding the team. They pretty much controlled all aspects of the team. Other kids barely got to do much and for the most part fly on the wheel. For the most part they were refrained from doing anything.
Now that we are in the second year, with so much knowledge the kids gained, they are enthusiastic to contribute in a bigger way this year. But the kid and his parents control everything and they wouldn’t let other kids do much.
Ideally we want this to be run by the kids, but its run by that one kid and his parents. They decide the positions, they decide the design and they run like a mom and pop shop. Kids are frustrated.
I am sure folks before me have encountered this kind of behavior.
So please let us know as to how to approach this situation and make this a children driven org.
Since that family controls the FRC account, is there a way to request FRC to grant additional access to that account.
Please share your thoughts.
Thank you,
