Compact RIO and Motor issues

Dear all,

Our team is experiencing some rather extreme technical difficulties. Our CRIO is unable to communicate with our Victors and Jaguars. We’ve more or less disassembled our electrical box, checked most components, searched everywhere trying to troubleshoot, and we’ve gotten nowhere. The code is not the issue as neither the example code nor our own code (in Java) would work. Our notification light also will not turn on. Everything’s getting power, as we have checked with a multimetre. Any suggestions on what could possibly be wrong?

Check the cRio slots for the following

  1. Analog
  2. digital
  3. 9472 sole

Make sure that the IP to the classmate is corresponding to the IP of the CRIO
I.e. 10.xx.yy.6 for classmate IP and 10.xx.yy.2 for the cRio

With the new ribbon cable, check to see if it connects from male to female as flush. If there is a half twist, then you have a faulty able and you have to fix it. I do not have the instructns on me, but it is online.

Check the spike because sometimes spikes cans how power and not work at ALL, plus check if they are plugged into the Relay PWMs

Make sure that the Digital sidecar (DSC) is PLUGGED INTO 12V slot with 20 amps flowing in power distribution and that the little flashy green light next to the robot signal light (RSL) plugin is active. Make sure the RSL is plugged in with voltage in La and Lb and ground is plugged into N. Make sure that all three lights on the side of the DSC is powered with bright green LEDS

Check for loose or backward PWMs which could give error.

All of this information is based on assumption, recent troubles that I have had, and miscellaneous information. If there are any questions, feel free to ask and I hope that I have helped!

Good luck and Happy Competitions!

What box? You shouldn’t be disassembling, much less reassembling any core components of the electrical system.

Have you fixed this problem?
