Our team has hosted the official team social for the Smoky Mountain Regional competition for 8 years. Do any other teams host competition socials or are they usually hosted by sponsors or the FIRST orgs? Looking for info for our Impact Presentation. Thanks!
At least you HAVE a Team Social…
Not every event does. Used to be (many many moons ago) part of the regional sponsorship included a team social.
In general, there are less and less socials at regionals. That’s too bad it has become less of a priority for RDs.
I also think the best time to do them is after load in. Makes sense to meet and hang out with teams prior to the event starting. But I get it, not all teams and their members show up for load in.

University of North Dakota is welcoming us to Grand Forks with a FREE Fun filled evening with a Pizza Party and tons of games for all teams and Volunteers on Thursday evening!! Kids have had a blast and UND is making it bigger and better again this year!! So greatfull for UND hosting this experience for the teams at the GNR!!
