I’ve started working on a project that was really just to show teams around me, but I kept going. I’m working on a Google Map that shows each individual team. This is not a map automatically created from FIRST’s list of teams like every other one I’ve found, but a manually-entered, placed at the school, map. I would like to open it up to YOU the FIRST, and CD community to add to it. Just add your team, or pick a state and start working at it. I would like to see FTC & FLL teams added too, if anyone is that ambitious. I’ve been using the “FlagColor.gif” logo off the FIRST site for the landmark pictures, and ask that you keep with that, here’s the link: http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedImages/Robotics_Programs/FRC/FRC_Communications_Resource_Center/Branding_and_Logos/FRC_FlagColor_RGB.gif
(To change to this logo, Add the placemark, then click on it so the box pops up. Click the icon and then click “add an icon”. then just paste in the above address. After you do this once, it should show up under “My Icons”)
I hope you all have fun with it! And if you see your team’s marker isn’t in the right spot (some teams didn’t have a school listed, so I went with the city center), please feel free to move it.
thanks for the link! I’ve been looking for something this detailed, but haven’t really been able to find one. I’ve seen the others that were posted, but they just haven’t been exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks again!.
Sorry for resurrecting an old (ish) thread, but does anyone know of a list or map of FLL teams that is more specific than the one FIRST provides? They only seem to list the city that teams are from, and, unless there is an article online that includes the team’s name and number, there’s no easy way of finding where local teams are.
It’s usually pretty hard to find an FLL team in your area without already knowing somebody or having contact information. I am not aware of any official (or unofficial for that matter) lists or maps of teams/team locations. The best way to get involved with FLL is to start a team!
