Compression testing game ball to failure

During load in, a game ball got loose from someone and rolled under our trailer tire. Game balls are very loud when they burst under maximum compression. If you were said team, come by our pit and we have a replacement.

But, but, but, where’s the data? Enquiring minds want to know what the load/deflection curve to failure looks like!

I bet that gave your driver quite the shock!

The B.U.T.T. (Ball Under Trailer Tire) showed up.

Conclusion: game balls won’t support a trailer.

Result: “FAILED”. :+1:

Very gracious of Enigma to deliver the results and return the B.U.T.T.

Honestly, I think there are some of the most robust game pieces I’ve ever seen, especially for ball-shaped ones. I’ve been wondering if we’ll be getting more dog toy game pieces in the future, since apparently the robustness needed to deal with dogs and the robustness needed to deal with robots are similar.

It would have been pretty sad if your tire failed and not the cargo.

You didn’t crush anything else, did you?

Nope, not Kansas. Definitely NOT Kansas.
