Confused on how to program/wire RGB LED Strip

An important distinction to make is that the one wire with ARGB LEDS is a signal wire and can come directly from the RoboRIO, however with “dumb” RGB strips those 3 wires are the actual power wires supplying the LEDs which cannot be fed directly from the RoboRIO. What you need at a minimum is an LED amplifier such as this: https://a.co/d/90vfAKD Then in code it should be as simple as setting the R, G, and B ports to output the desired duty cycle.
