Confusion about Bridge vs Access point and Setup

I’m attempting to setup a radio prior to our competition in a few weeks, we have been running on the access point but from what I can tell that isn’t meant to be used at competitions.

I’m not sure exactly the difference between the Bridge and Access Point modes, I was able to set one of our radios to the bridge mode but am not sure how to connect to it now. Any insight is helpful.

You’ll program the radio for the “bridged” configuration at the event using the radio programming kiosk laptop that the event will provide.

When at your lab/space and practicing, most teams will run the radio in the access point configuration.

The difference is that in AP mode, the radio accepts connections from clients and when in “bridged” mode, the radio is a client to connect to another access point.

Access Point mode: The radio creates its own WiFi network.
Bridge mode: The radio connects to another WiFi network (e.g. the ARENA network at competition)

That clears up a lot, thanks both of you.
