Congrats Midwest Regional Winners!

Congratulations to teams 45 (TechnoKats), 269 (Cooney Quest) and 930 (M-cubed) on their win at the Midwest regional. Everyone at the event did a GREAT job but these three teams came out on top. Their hard work and great sportsmanship really paid off.

Way to go guys!!!

Thanks Katie…Congrats to 93 for getting to the finals… sorry it had to end so soon. If anyone has video of the finals at the midwest regional please contact me or Ricky Q. from 269.

Thank you,

Tim Anderson

yes, congrads to all teams who competed at the midewest regional!!! those elims were simply amazing. after i saw that second quarterfinal match between beatty and las gurillas (i think that was the match), i thought it was the best match i’d ever seen. then the finals come around and WOW!!! those scores were simply amazing…

Its Tim!

Those videos should also be avaliable at soap108.com soon.

Congrats to TechnoKats, Cooney Quest, and Mukwonago! Way to represent Wisconsin!!!

Congrats to everyone for a well-played weekend and one of the most exciting FIRST events I have ever been to. The eliminations were unlike any I’ve ever witnessed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the arena with that many people get that excited before.

Kev

This has all been said before, but congrats AGAIN to 269, 45, 930!!! Even more congratulations to team 234 (CyberBlue) for winning the big one, the chairmans award. You deserved it!

Congrats to 269 - 45 - 930 for the win.

Thanks to all of the volunteers and judges for their hard work to make for a great weekend!

Great job Coony and Technokats you guys really showed them how the games was played. Yes those matches at the end were truely spectacular. Hopefully we can get our vids up on a site for all of you to see. once again thank you all and great job 45 and 269.Good luck in Atlanta

We have DVD quality videos of all the qf’s, sf’s, and finals if anyone wants them I will encode them to Divx or xvid today…

Awesome! I cant wait to see that! Im running out of patience waiting for soap108.com to upload…but I guess they have to fly home today :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, what a regional!! Having never been to the Midwest Regional and only hearing stories, I didn’t know what to really expect. The robots, volunteers and competition was all top notch. Congrats to teams 45,269, and 930 for winning the regional, and a side congrats to team 93 for making it as far as they did.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time and effort for making the Midwest the best!

Congarats to teams 45, 269, and our friends on 930; from team 107.

Congrats to 269, 45, and 930! I didn’t get to make it out to Midwest this year, but I heard it was awesome. Hope to see you all in Atlanta!

I’m kind of upset that Cyber Blue never got the opportunity to play with or against any of the Championship alliance…oh well…maybe in atlanta.

I am aswell looking forward to Atlanta and I plan on trying to get the majority of those matches ALL in DVD-like quality. Problems arise with computers, not even harddrive space. I figure after I encode the videos and I can get them all on my 500+GB of space of my one computer I have that we could hook up as our ‘server’. If others would like to donate their time to help with a laptop or a laptop/camera that we can use (would have to be DV compatible) that’d be great and it’d help us get all of those matches in top notch quality… I don’t know what quality SOAP has the matches in but based on the fact that I know they were streaming doesn’t that mean it probably won’t be the greatest? or do they have good copies as well?

Congratulations to 45, 269, and 930 - you guys played awesome and it was exciting to see you play all parts of the game so well - we just didn’t have the firepower to stop you!

I have to say that 930 has some pretty cool tricks up their sleeve when it comes to protecting the bar :)). Way to go guys - 2nd time is the charm!

Ken

Thanks Ken. We were just talking about getting some more tricks up our sleeve today and talking about more improvments we can make and that was actually the exact phrase stated :). Did you know that there was a rather large argument within our team about 3 weeks in wether to go up the 6in step or not, to get to the bar. I mean, what if we had never done that?! :ahh:

Thanks Ken, we had to improvise when 2x handling went down the drain. Luckily we could hold the bar rather well with those wings and make it to another finals round. Last year was a toss up finals and this year was just as close all the way through. Once again, good luck and we’ll see you in atlanta.

Congratulations to Cyber Blue for winning the Chairmans Award! You guys deserved that win! I think you have an excellent chance of winning the overall award in Atlanta!! My fingers are crossed. :yikes:

I agree. After all they did, or what I’ve heard that they’ve done they surely deserved to win it! I feel bad for them that they weren’t able to make it to play anyone from the final alliances but hopefully we’ll be able to hook up in Atlanta. 930 definately understands the irony of getting into the finals and loosing, we tok 2nd last year and it was a total let down that we had lost but it was amazing how far we made it. It’s going to be a real downer next year (our 4th year) when the majority of our students that were in our rookie year leave. We will all miss them greatly and I hope we can continue competing with all the great teams at the midwest
