Congrats to 103

I would just like to be one of the first on delphi to give congrats to T-Dey and his crew back home. Guys everyone second you couldn’t do it a second, let alone a third time, and you proved all of them wrong. Thank you guys for turning what I started into what is now a legacy. Although we’re losing our top two guys this year I’m sure the freshman next year will be able to cover your footsteps, and continue making great 103 submissions in the future.

Similar to Joe DiMaggio’s 56 Game Hit Streak in Baseball, some feats may never be replicated in FIRST, like this for example. The fact that the community voted 103’s inventor submission this year is just another reason why the streak is just unbelievable.

Spectacular work guys, the midnight oil paid off.

Thank you to everyone that voted for us. We can hardly believe it too. We said that we would raise the bar this year and that’s exactly what we did. Next year we are going to raise it higher, and the year after that the same.

Please, everyone, since this is my last year as a student member of FIRST, please remember these words from me:

Those who say it is impossible are interrupting those who are doing it.

Team 103… you guys rock. Your submission was a clear winner in my eyes.

Congrats guys you obviously put in a lot of work. Great meeting some of you guys at the Autodesk Luncheon thing.

You guys always have amazing submissions and everyone can learn from you. We all strive to make it up to your high level. Great Job.

Great job and congratulations. Our team admires your Inventor ability.
No, seriously, you guys are amazing. Congratulations!

Fantastic job guys. Your entry always amazes me. Very well deserved.

You are the team all teams aspire to in this area. MOE always looks forward to what the 'sonics have put together every year.

Rock on!

A threepeat in Inventor is simply incredible. The fact that the mentoring in this area (while being of very high quality and meaningful) has changed over time is a true testament to the ability, dedication, and creativity of the students involved. Huge congrats to 103. You are the standard that all teams measure themselves against.

I’m really glad to see that Autodesk and the FIRST community agree that the Cybersonics design group put together an outstanding model and submission. This award is also confirmation that the team has achieved a self-sustaining program where new members are taught by their more experienced peers, and that each year this student-led team can continue to “raise the bar”.

That I had nearly no direct involvement in this year’s submission gives me a great sense of satisfaction because it shows that the program we started has inspired these students to take complete ownership of the process, from pre-season training of incoming members, to managing the multi-person design project and through to the submission of design portfolio.

Though Rob and Mike will be moving on, I’m sure that Logan and Jonathan will lead the group to an even higher standard next year.

Happy to be a Superfluous Inventor Mentor,
Petek

Does anyone have pictures of when we went up to accept the award? We can’t find any. Or any videos?

i would like to wholeheartedly thank the FIRST community for their votes for the submission we put together this year. it is one of the shining moments i will look back on as i go into college and into the workplace.

Although i wish i could have done more on the submission (like that front page rendering… gerrr, and a full robot animation), i feel i have surrpassed anything i have done the past two years.

(which reminds me: every year we’ve won so far, i was on the team… coincidence? :stuck_out_tongue: )

I would also like to say an official good luck to the two remaining members of our team, and i look forward to seeing what they come up with next year.

This is the winning photo (visible on FIRSTbase as well). When I went up to accept the award, Buzz asked “didn’t you guys win last year?”

I responded, with a smile, “and the year before that.”

“Wow, you guys obviously must be awesome!”
I will never forget those words, they will stick with me forever. It meant a LOT coming from Buzz Kross. Wish I could thank him again.

All, Let me add my congratulations! I believe the most significant hornor of this thrid in a row ackowledgement comes from the fact that your fellow teams elected you.

You are awesome and have a very bright future ahead.

Best Regards,

Thank you. I promise you, Buzz, and everyone else that reads this, that I will do great things. This is only the beginning. I am going to be an astronautical engineer, showing the world that impossible is only a word.
