You guys really do show the true meaning of FIRST. You have ALWAYS been up there for finalists in the Chairman’s award, and now it was your turn. I couldn’t have picked a better team to win it. Great job guys!!! Hope to see you all very soon.

2002 UTC Regional Chairman’s Award Winners
Buzz has not been around as long as many other teams, but they sure have left their mark. My first real experience with them was a couple years ago when they hosted the 2 weeks of events at the BIG E in Springfield Mass…That was a monumental amount of work, time and dedication.
Buzz shows a great balance of teamwork… Mentors from the sponsor, staff from school, students and parents are all involved all the time.
Thanks for showing the rest of us what it takes to be a real winner. Now to go back to my toy room and play with my tinker toys and remote controlled Etch a Sketch…

Congratulations Buzz! It’s good to know there are teams like yours out there spreading the message. Just like everyone at the awards ceremony said, we’ll get to every high school that wants it, especially if teams put in the effort you do. Good luck in off-season competitions and in following years, but I already know you guys’ll do fine.
congrats! we were 5 seconds away from going to the finals at new haven with you. 5 seconds!!! with out a doubt, you were one of the best ball robots this year, that’s why we picked you at new haven. we wanted to pick you again at nationals, but the team seeded the spot before us picked you. i think you guys had more team spirit than any other team. it was fun hearing the crowd cheer for us when we were allied together. usually they say “team 271 from bay shore, new york” and the crowd is silent. i have a picture somewhere of me with a huge yellow smiley face. congradulations on winning the chairman’s award!!!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank BUZZ team 175. While attending the UTC regional I happened to be interviewed by a local tv station. They told us when it would be on, but being from PA we were incapable of taping it. We approached BUZZ and asked if they could try and tape it since they were local, they replied they would try but couldn’t guarantee anything. On Saturday morning they presented us with not one, but two copies of the interview. Thank you very much for the tapes.
This selfless act is a a perfect demonstration of why BUZZ deserved to win the chairmans awards.
