I believe this is the appropriate place to put this. Congrats to 294 who recently was shown on Disney Channel.
Your kind words are appreciated. I was not aware that it was shown already! Daniel is the one responsible for the exposure, so I must pass on similar congratulations.
Congratulations and thanks, Daniel!
I just viewed the clip on the Disney Channel, hearing the words “national robotics” and “Dean Kamen” made me run into the room and rewind. Congrats to team 294 and Daniel who was featured. Perhaps 294 is Sponsored by Disney?

Nope,
294 is sponsored by Northrop Grumman Space Technologies Division. Teams 207 (a few blocks away from 294) and 1515 are sponsored by Disney organizations. Disney is also a sponsor for the Southern California Regional and helps the regional with support services as well.
That’s interesting - I wonder how they got on the Disney Channel, I would think that Disney would pull from the teams that they sponsor…and get the video footage from those sources.

Daniel is a well spoken young man and 294 and were contenders for the Championship Chairman’s award. 294 was also part of the National Championship Alliance in 2001. They also attended the Championship last year. I don’t think that either 1515 or 207 were in Atlanta, so Disney had to take what they could get.
And a fine choice they made too.

Thanks Chris. Actually, this was filmed in early May, a few weeks after the championships. I’m actually not quite sure what the process was myself. I got a forward from a mentor about a week before the championships with some communication with Amazing Kids, Inc (the organization that did all of the taping and processing). The mentor reccomended me (which was flattering in and of itself) and asked me if I wanted to do it, and I agreed to do it.
And 1515 was in Atlanta
