I know you didn’t play but I think you deserve to win! Your bot is truly a very good one! I am so proud a so-cal (well all the teams were from California) team especially one so close to us won this year! I was really impressed by your robot when I saw it at your school when we visited. I hope you keep it up and I’m looking forward to next year introduced before matches as “winners of the Houston world championship in 2019!”
It was an all Cali alliance but the other 3 were from the north and almost no one from socal made it past their division elims (how did so many of us get destroyed in quarters) so it’s nice to get someone to represent this area of California, though I really wanted to see 330 win carver :(. Congrats to 4201 and can’t wait for Beach Blitz and OCR next year
973 is from Atascadero, which I assure you is NOT North California.
Edit: unless you consider “North” anything above Los Angeles.
Yeah my bad, I mentally divide the state around Ventura or Santa Barbara into north and south
It kind of depends.
Geography of the state? South.
Population distribution? North–ish. They’re north of the Grapevine which from a population POV is probably about the midpoint.
Where they compete? NORTH (it’s a strong bias throughout the team history–19 North, 11 South, 4 out-of-state in official events; 12-2-1 offseasons)
TL;DR: By geography, SoCal. By where they compete, NorCal. FRC cares about where you compete. Therefore: NorCal.
At what point do we start having a Mid-Cal?
Thank you so much for the support! Playing through playoffs with such amazing teams was an incredible learning experience for all of us-- and we’re excited to see how we can get even better next year!

That 4201 hosted 330 for the last couple of years is a nice way to honor 330’s legacy. The 4201 program is amazing after seeing them win Chairman’s at CVR last year.
