Connecting to Target Issue

Wondering if someone could help. Our programming computer has been working for the past week. Today when trying to connect to the target a message box appears ‘Problems Connecting Target’.
Step finished with this error: Timeout waitng for target server to launch.

Have not been able to resolve.
-Reimaged the target with V47
-Reinstalled windriver along with disc 2 since the system is win7 74-bit
-Reinstalled the C++ update
-Reinstalled the FRC utilities and Driver satation.
-Have rebooted, started windriver 3.3 with a new workspace
and still get the error.

Using the same target system we are able to connect with other computers. No errors show in the WindReiver registry.

I’m at a loss as to what has change on the system to cause this error.

Thanks for any help

Issue solved. The windows firewall was turn off but noticed the McAfee security software had it’s firewall turned back on. Not sure how or why it got switched back on possibly may have been when the software performed an update.

We had a similar problem with Windows Firewall. We keep it enabled, but add exceptions for all the necessary software. Unfortunately Windows doesn’t make it obvious (to me at least) whether you are connected in Home, Work or Public zones.

For some reason the firewall rules were inconsistent across the different zones and occasionally we were in Public instead of Work.

Opening up the firewall settings in control panel and checking the boxes across all zones for FRC software fixed the issue.
