Consumer Reports tried out the Segway, and briefly covers it in an October 2003 article, “Segway technology: What’s next?.”
Conclusions:
"The Segway is well designed, easy to master, and fun to ride, but expensive and of limited use. "
The only recommendation:
“Last year, Consumers Union joined with other groups in urging Congress not to grant the Segway sidewalk access until safety issues could be assessed.”
