So, I see there’s now going to be (pending official notice “soon” maybe) a new manufacturer/vendor allowed on the FRC CAN bus.

Does anyone know anything about this “Copperforge”?

Would love to know more about it too, I found that PR a while ago and tracked down their site. @BenjaminWard or @solomondg any info to share?
Not sure if Ben is still involved (havent seen him mentioned anywhere recently) but from what I heard it’s a CRTE~esque competitor for motor controllers/CAN stuff. Not sure how right that is though.
I thought they still had a few years before they were ready to release anything though…
There was also discussion of selling code but i dont think they were serious on that idea. Who knows tho.
Copperforge is a startup founded by some pretty smart people (@solomondg and @BenjaminWard), and they’re mainly focused around electronics products(sensors and stuff). The goal is to make electronics that are reliable, easy to use, without a ridiculous pricetag. Products are currently still being developed, and I’ve heard more info will be coming out once they’re ready to release.
I’ve heard otherwise lol
Hi there!
That’s us! Solomon and I have been working for the past few years on a set of products designed to lift the competition floor (and to help high-performing teams succeed). We’re mostly focused on electronics, for now, but we have a long to-do list of mechanical products in mind.
We’re going as fast as possible - we’ve had a few false starts this summer, but we’re finally charging ahead with our website, storefront, and other projects to get us ready for release sooner rather than later. We’re also supporting a few community projects - check out Game Manual 0, a comprehensive guide to FTC built by a huge collaboration of FTC veterans and alumni!
Thank you for your kind words! We hope we can meet and exceed your expectations.
Any hints or teasers of products you care to share? Or still too early for that stage?
Can we expect anything this upcoming competition season?

Beats me………
Hey y’all! Pretty funny to open up CD and see this on the front page
To answer a few questions…
Ben summarized our goal pretty well - we’re all about anything that makes the path to a better robot faster and less painful.

We’re working on a few electronics-y things at the moment! Keeping it conservatively scoped at the moment while we figure out how to make things that don’t catch on fire (always important), but we have some big aspirations for the future. We’ll be releasing more information pretty soon, so (shameless plug) be sure to follow us on social media (insta/twitter/facebook - is there anything else the kids are using these days?). Also, if you’re interested in beta testing, we got a form on our website!
Can we expect anything this upcoming competition season?
Let’s hope so

Ben, absolutely. Me? Sheesh…
Can’t wait to see what new products are in store for FRC!
