Cost of Safety Glasses

I have regular glasses as well, and I just use the biggest ones I can find laying around the pit. Our team has about a billion pairs of safety glasses because our coach is a science teacher, and there are always new shipments coming every fall for the woodshop too. I think some of our mentors bring in a bunch too. I haven’t noticed a big cost for our goggles anywhere…

I got mine from http://www.crewsinc.com/

They have a good selection, and the majority of them are priced under ten bucks.

Everyone gets their own here…that is if you don’t want to get it from the box of scratched up “ghetto glasses.”

Definately get a pair of rec specs…you can get them from lens crafter in an assortment of colors and are like eighties retro…very stylish… :ahh:

Yes, Pat your RecSpecs are hot.

Buckhorn Industrial sells saftey glasses for $2.50 a pair. For every pair sold $0.50 is donated to Team 302. More styles will be sold soon.

Thank you for your support from everyone at Team 302

We get new ones each year provided by our career center. They look cool, so the kids do not object to wearing them, Also can have some to go over the regular glasses. We get them at Direct Safety. They have several to chose from and not a bad price.

You have already started a thread about this. (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=49629)
Bringing back a thread from 2 years ago to advertise more isnt needed.

I know that the TechnoKats started handing out free “Stolen from TechnoKats” Safety glasses at the competition. We buy them at such a high quantity that it comes out to about $1.00 per pair. Correct me if I’m wrong Kyle or Andy.

Check out SamsClub.com

I bought a package of THESE for our team last year. They are nice wrap-around style and they are about $25 for 12 pair (got them at my local store). Search for Safety glasses at the Sam’s Club site and you can find others for similar pricing, and even less (as low as $1.63 a piece, or even a 10-pack for $12.58).

As long as our team members are wearing safety glasses or side-shields during the competition, they can choose any brand they want. Our favorite series of safety glasses is the Aurora series by MSA, picked up at our local Home Depot. They were $9 for a pair.

These so comfortable to wear that you can sleep in them! (Literally.) A plus for us teenagers, they also look very cool!

I have had probably at least 20 pairs of safety glasses just though my time in FIRST. I always seem to loose them or lend them to people either way I have tried many pairs. The point of all of this is that bang for the buck the best glasses I have ever had (and still have) are a pair of uvex Genesis. They are very comfortable, have replaceable lenses with many different tint/color options. They run about $8.00 but that is well worth it to have a pair of glasses that are so comfortable that you forget you are wearing them.

you can buy them here http://www.safetyglassesusa.com/genesis.html

We give a pair to every student as part of their dues for the team. We buy them from www.tasco-safety.com
The ones that we buy are the wrap around lenses and we have them customized with our team logo on the edge of the lens. They cost about $4.50 a pair with shipping.

I’m using mine in my chem lab this semester. Thanks TechnoKats!
Like Greg, I’ve been through at least a dozen. I usually just goto Home Depot or Lowes and spend $6-10.
